Then, head outside and explore Downtown Woodland. There are various historic buildings that are essential to the city of Woodland. Visit the Woodland Library and Rose Garden or Dead Cat Alley, which is a project by the Woodland Art Center to beautify the alley with art work and projects to attract tourists and express its historical significance.
Enjoy shopping on Main Street in historic downtown. Visit and shop at different and unique stores from antiques, to quilts, to a western store, and much more! If you visit Woodland on either Tuesday from June-September or Saturday from May-September, make sure you also head to the Farmers’ Market at Freeman Park on Main Street for some fresh local goodies.
After spending a big day around downtown, head over to one of Woodland’s premier restaurants, Morrison’s Upstairs. Morrison’s Upstairs has won various awards including Sacramento Magazine’s 2008 “Best of Sacramento” and “Best Restaurant in Woodland.” The restaurant exists upstairs in what was the Jackson-Nelson Building circa 1891; another historic building significant to Woodland’s history.
